What is a Wedding Day First Touch?

We get asked questions about a “first look” all the time.  And, as a photographer, we absolutely LOVE them because we get to highlight all those emotions in an intimate setting.  And who doesn’t love those moments when a groom sees his bride for the first time.

That said, the truth is you should never feel pressured because it is ultimately YOUR decision as a bride and groom if you want to do a first look or not.  We educate our couples so they can make the best decision for their wedding day.

So, something we wanted to share with you today was if you decided not to do the first look is that you still have options!

Something a little less known is the option of a “first touch”.

This is a moment during the wedding day before our bride walks down the aisle that enables us as photographers to take a few pictures of you two together, can help calm any jitters, but ultimately preserves that moment you see it other for the first time.

You may or may not recognize some of these photographs from Pinterest inspiration but it can be as simple as the holding of hands on the other side of a door, to reading letters to one another, private vows, a prayer, or even just to capture some more pictures in a stunning location where you can be together but we end up blindfolding your groom 😉.

The thing is… everyone’s wedding is unique so we love to make it creative and work for our couples.

We hope you find these tips and tricks helpful.

Big Hugs and Lots of Love,

Isaac and Amanda
