There is something special about a summer wedding in Charleston. This wedding that we are so excited to share with you is no exception with its ivory, blush, and greenery. Alyssa and Brandon picked Old Wide Awake Plantation as their wedding venue for its stunning southern porches, ivy-covered stairs, and blooming trees. Alyssa and Brandon had to postpone their wedding from May to July due to COVID, and we are so excited we finally got to celebrate with them. It’s easy to fall in love with this venue for its southern charms. But even easier to fall in love with Alyssa and Branson.
We started the day getting ready with Alyssa, her bridesmaids with the girls of Lashes and Lace. They giggled as they popped a little champagne in their bright floral silk robes. They cried tears of joy seeing Alyssa in her WTOO wedding dress for the first time. They fanned their faces through the humidity of the summer day, and most of all they stayed by Alyssa’s side through it all.
Brandon arrived onsite a little later with the groomsmen. The first look was at by the ivy-covered stairs. Watching Brandon wait patiently to see his bride for the first time with a huge smile on his face as Alyssa in excitement held back tears was so sweet! When he finally turned around to see her his jaw dropped at the sight of her in her dress.
The day had an invisible string of little moments just like that one, connecting to one another, little by little, that made all the stress and planning (and replanning) worth it. To celebrate with your closest family and friends, all in one place as you commit to one another in marriage is a gift.
