Amber and James – Quinney Oaks Plantation Wedding

We are so excited to share this Quinney Oaks Plantation wedding with you today!  This is a special one to us, as we have been able to see Amber and Jame’s love story since the beginning.  We first met Amber when she moved to Atlanta and went on her first date with James.  We just had so much fun together at their engagement session this spring (which you can read about here) we knew the wedding would just be magical!

Amber and James planned their June destination wedding in Millen from Atlanta, and thanks to the incredible expertise and eye of Cameron Rocker Clements of Quinney Oaks Plantation, the day was flawless from start to finish despite the afternoon pop-up shower.  The entire vendor team hustled together as the dark clouds rolled in and managed to run out to the courtyard with all the groomsmen and bridesmaids to quickly move all the tables and chairs beneath the porches safely out of the rain.  Once the storms passed, you would never be able to tell it even rained a drop.  From the gorgeous florals by The Rose and Vine, to the custom paper products, signs and table settings every single detail of the day felt like it was straight out of a magazine. We were in photographer heaven.  Amber envisioned her big day as a secret garden meets a midnight summer’s dream and it truly was a whimsical affair.  But what stuck out to us most was the incredible love, warmth, and sincerity of Amber, James, and everyone around them.

We are going to share our favorite moments in three parts, so here we go-

  1.  We love to capture the emotion of the first look on a wedding day because it is one of the few quiet private moments you get to have together.  Moments before their first look, Amber read James private letter he wrote on old parchment paper, and we knew the moment she tapped on his shoulder to see James see her in her dress for the first time that everything he wrote in that letter was in his eyes.
  2.   After the ceremony, and first portraits as husband and wife, we always find that our next favorite ‘big’ moment on a wedding day is the first dance!  We both LOVE to dance but between the two of us, only one of us has any moves and the other one is so very uncoordinated.  Amber and James’s first dance was perfectly choreographed, you could FEEL the love and closeness shared not just by the couple, but by every single person in the room.
  3.   Speeches are another favorite time of ours because we can get a deeper insight into our couples relationship through the eyes of those closest to them.  As each speech unfolded one thing was for certain- Amber and James are perfect for each other.  Our favorite line that had the crowd both laughing and teary-eyed was Amber’s maid of honor who said it best.  “Amber, you did it.  You finally found your real-life Jim Halpert!”

Amber and James, thank you for allowing us to be part of your family for the day.  We will never forget your wedding Anniversary because it is Isaac’s birthday!  It was truly an honor, and we’re so excited for you to see a few of our many favorites!

As Michael Scott, once said it best “Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘wedding’ as ‘the fusing of two metals with a hot torch.’ Well, you know something? I think you guys are two medals. Gold medals”

Big hugs and lots of love!

Isaac and Amanda
