Ashley and Will – St Simons Lighthouse Wedding

Happy Friday Friends!  We are so excited to share with you Ashley and Will’s St Simons Lighthouse Wedding!  You may remember these two from their Sea Island and King and Prince Golf Club Engagement session.  However, these two caught our eye over a year ago as wedding guests and dancing machines.  We love their signature moves.  The one that stands out the most that we have dubbed as “The Will” is when Will pretends to be a paparazzi taking pictures while Ashley is posing in front of the “camera”.

You know how much we love dancing, and these guys are SO MUCH FUN to watch on the dancefloor.

The day was flawless from start to finish.  From the gorgeous florals by Mechelle Coiner to the custom signage and wedding paper! Every single detail of the day felt like it was straight out of a magazine and we were in photographer heaven.

We met Ashley in her bridal suite at The Cloister on Sea Island surrounded by all her bridesmaids.  It felt like walking into a room full of old friends as we saw familiar faces and quickly made friends with new ones.  Ashley wanted a classic look.  Her wedding colors were black, gold, champagne, and ivory.  Ashley’s dress was stunning.  She wore her mother’s veil as her something borrowed and the soles of her shoes were her something blue. Each bridesmaid wore a different black BHLDN dress- to say we are obsessed is an understatement.

Will got ready down the road at The Village Inn.  He looked sharp in his black tux and pampas grass boutinneer.  We LOVED highlighting that Lowcountry detail – can you say dapper?!  Will immediately greeted us with a smile and his joy was contagious.

Although they wanted to save the moment when Will would see Ashley in her dress for the first time for when she was walking down the aisle, they did decide to meet up in the sunroom for a “first touch”.  Ashley walked up behind Will to hold his hand and they got to spend a private moment together.  Watching their reactions and seeing how perfect for each other they were, with the ceremony just a few minutes away, was one of our favorite moments of the day!  We knew Will was counting down the moments to finally see Ashley in her dress after that!

The ceremony was outdoors at the St Simons Lighthouse.  Guests not only got to witness these two tie the knot but making a promise to one another by the ocean, with the sun setting on the horizon.  It was so romantic.

The reception was one big party!  After over a year of seeing these two dance together on many crowded dancefloors it was so magical to see what that moment looked like when it was their moment and their dancefloor.

“Stand By Me’ by Ben E. King was their first dance song because Will has always hummed this tune when he danced with Ashley in the kitchen.

It’s surprising that these two did not leave the dancefloor all night long.  Ashley and Will, we are so grateful for the honor and trust in us to capture your wedding day, celebrating alongside your closest family and friends.  For a moment we got to be a part of your dancefloor instead of dancing on the sidelines, and we will never forget that! Below are a few of our favorite pictures from your wedding day and we hope you love these pictures as much as we loved celebrating with you!

Big Hugs and Lots of Love,

Isaac and Amanda
