Have you ever been a guest at a wedding that was so awesome you just wished it would happen again, and again (and maybe again because let’s face it you didn’t want the perfect day to ever end). For us, that’s Caroline and George.
When we first received a wedding inquiry via the cutest, fluffiest golden doodle named Walter Hobbs on Instagram, we could tell we were going to hit it off right away. You may remember when Caroline and George traveled all the way from Charlotte, NC for their St Simons Island Engagement session. Our hearts were fueled with excitement to celebrate with them on their big day!
We arrived at the Hotel at Avalon and met Caroline in the bridal suite. When we showed up we felt like we were walking into a room of old friends. We were greeted with big smiles and hugs. The girls popped champagne and swooned over Caroline’s Hayley Paige gown. She was such a STUNNING bride and we had front row seats to everyone’s awed reactions. When she revealed her dress to her bridesmaids she twirled and they helped her with the final touch by putting on her veil as her something borrowed.
Standing on the sidewalk, waiting on Caroline to tap him on the shoulder, we got the impression that George might have been the teensiest bit nervous. It could have been the massive crowd of family and friends standing 15 feet away in the middle of the street cheering him on. Despite any nerves, his smile was ear to ear, and between his Brackish bowtie, crisp black tux, and floofiest sidekick by his side he was every bit Caroline’s perfect complement. When he finally turned around to see her for the first time his smile says it all.
Did your heart just melt? We felt like Olaf in Frozen because everything was worth melting for. As we gathered the bridal party (All 25 of them) and drove off to Ivy Hall we knew we were in for a celebration that night, but it’s nights like this one that reminds us what a privilege and honor it is to capture this moment, this day. From their vows, to the speeches sharing the kind of loyal and loving people they truly are, to the non-stop dance party.
The song Sweet Caroline will forever remind us of George picking up Caroline like Simba from the Lion King swaying to a dancefloor crowd singing in sync at the top of their lungs. The Emerald Empire Band had the crowd going non-stop. Even Isaac made a guest appearance when the spinning bottle stop pointing at him in the dance circle. Which is just another moment we are still giggling over.
Caroline and Goerge, We love you guys (and Walter) more than queso, and that’s a whole lot! Let us know the next time you visit Sea Island and we will bring the champagne. We are so giddy to share just a few of our many favorites from this beautiful day!
Big Hugs and lots of love,
Isaac and Amanda
