Caroline and George – East Beach, St Simons Island Engagement

When we first received a wedding inquiry via the cutest, fluffiest golden doodle on Instagram, we could tell we were going to hit it off right away – which is always one of the best feelings.

These two sweethearts traveled all the way from Charlotte, NC for their engagement session.  When they arrived and we finally met in person (after months of texts, emails, and insta-messages), we immediately felt like old friends!  They showed up with a tribe to cheer them on, we had Caroline’s mom Cathy, Aunt Diane, Cousin Amelia and sister!  It was SO much fun getting to know them and celebrate!

Their contagious laughs and joyful love was so easy to photograph. We had a blast with them both, they have some of the most THOUGHTFUL hearts, easy-going personalities, and best smiles (The pictures speak for themselves 😉 ). Example- when we asked George to whisper something sweet in Caroline’s ear we knew they were the perfect fit for us when he had her giggling so hard.  When we asked what he said, she answered: “He said ‘I am going to get you queso later'”.

We picked each location with intention.  St. Simons Island has always been Caroline’s happy place, and it was so hard to choose with so many beautiful options that really meant something special to her.  We have written several blog posts about why we think it is so unique to take pictures in a special place, but today friends, we wanted to share why we love sessions where our couples ask to incorporate something sentimental, creative or special to them.  George proposed walking down east beach past the coast guard station with their adorable “floof”  (aka 4-month-old puppy, Walter Hobbs ) this past March. Their pictures there are some of our favorites yet. We finished the evening with Caroline and George popping a bottle of champagne they had saved from that day, not far from where he had proposed months earlier.

Congratulations again Caroline and George! We are counting down to your big day next May and we are so excited to celebrate your marriage!

Big hugs and lots of love,

Isaac and Amanda

P.S – We are often asked where we go to take pictures!  We wanted to share our locations for this session so you can enjoy them too!  We started the session at the Avenue of Oaks, the memorial by the pier and ended on East Beach for golden hour.
