Hello Friends! We have an exciting new wedding on the blog for you! Cecilia and Eric’s Dusty Rose and Southern Blue wedding at The Barn of Chapel Hill. You may remember these two from our EPIC destination Charleston engagement session. Cecelia and Eric are college sweethearts from NC State that started officially dating in February of 2011 and have been together ever since! We immediately hit it off with them hanging out at the beach, bonding over our love of dogs, the shared experience of making long distance work (no matter how many states in-between), and singing along to all our favorite country songs! Needless to say we having been waiting to FINALLY celebrate with them and now we are so excited to share it with you too.
When we show up to the wedding venue and the bridesmaids say “I see Isaac changing out of his Chaco’s in the parking lot!” We feel so loved! (read as: We realize we might have a problem…)
We arrived at the Barn of Chapel Hill and fell in love with all the charm of this bright and airy venue! From the dreamy light to the breathtaking florals by Wild Flora Farm!
We met Cecelia in the bridal loft upstairs surrounded by all her bridesmaids. It felt like walking into a room full of old friends (if all of our friends were suddenly wearing white Birkenstocks, in fact, every bridesmaid had their own pair!) It was the North Carolina version of our Chaco love! The girls popped champagne and swooned over Cecelia’s Stella York gown. Cecelia’s grandmother helped her with the final touch by putting on her homemade veil.
Although they wanted to save the moment when Eric would see Cecelia in her dress for the first time for when she was walking down the aisle, they did decide to read each other letters from opposite sides of the loft’s barn door. Watching their reactions and seeing how perfect for each other they were, with the ceremony just a few minutes away, was one of our favorite moments of the day!
After a beautiful ceremony surrounded by the flowers grown on the property (and the attendant bees of course!), we were treated to the most amazing golden hour shots with these two. After being apart all day it was so much fun watching them love and smile and kiss all over each other (it did not take long for them to start to giggle kiss!).
Cecelia’s brother’s speech which started out teasing Cecelia for being aggressively passionate turned out to be a tearjerker which had Amanda teary-eyed. When he said he couldn’t imagine why tall, handsome southern gentlemen like Eric was doing with Cecelia to how he couldn’t imagine why anyone in the world wouldn’t be in love with Cecelia and how they deserved all the happiness in the world.
Celia and Eric – we hope that you get to view a few of our favorites from your wedding day while sipping on some amazing Italian wine, overlooking the sunset on the coast. We re so grateful for the honor and trust in us to capture your wedding day, celebrating alongside your closest family and friends. For the day, we got to be a part of your Wolf Pack, and we hope to watch it grow!
