Shawn and Ellie first met in college at the University of North Florida, and have been together ever since!  Although these two call Jacksonville home, they simply fell in love with St Simons Island and the Golden Isles.   They are seriously the sweetest couple and we are so excited for their big day at the King and Price next spring!

We always like to get to know our couples and ask questions about their story.  We always ask for each of their versions because there are two sides to every story, especially when there is a diamond ring involved!  Shawn very carefully planned his proposal to Ellie months in advance, and it is definitely one of our favorites!

We suggested doing their engagement session at the Avenue of the Oaks.  Isaac might say it’s a favorite location of ours because we would be standing literally right next to the Sea Island Golf course (Isaac loves to golf!) but the Avenue of Oaks is special for other reasons as well.

Just off the Lodge, in the channel between St Simons Island and Jekyll was one of the Aiken family’s favorite spots to watch the 4th of July fireworks every summer.  About 200 yards from where we took these pictures, and over 200 years ago, Isaac’s family put down roots on the southern end of the island.  There is something pretty special about getting to see the ruins of your great, great, great, great, great, great grandfathers house.

Walking through those special oaks and seeing how sweet they were with each other was the perfect end to our day.
