Matt and Emily are the perfect pair starting with their love of Paris, dancing, the outdoors, and Gus, the most adorable golden doodle.

Matt proposed to Emily 7 months and 7 days after they started dating which happened to be Valentines day!  Matt had it all planned out, right down to their lucky number (which is 7 in case you didn’t catch that).

Matt received advice from a friend that said “if your going to propose to a girl on Valentines day you should buy her flowers so she only thinks she is getting flowers.”  We had never heard of this advice before but we told Matt he had a wise friend.  Great surprise tactic, if the flowers arrive in time that is, but Matt wasn’t nervous at all and delivered an amazing surprise that night resulting in a very excited “Yes” from Emily in downtown Roswell.

We couldn’t wait to meet up with Emily and Matt at the Cator Woolford Gardens in Atlanta.  We knew they wanted something botanical and warming for Spring.  We always love these gardens because there are so many possibilities for a engagement session from the stairs or the stone pathways and little bridges.

The Gardens were just peeking into spring and the beautiful blooms and greenery was the perfect backdrop. We had to move up their engagement session because of the thunderstorms later in the day but you would never know it from how nice it was for their session.  It’s like the sun came out just for this moment. Emily’s fabulous Bliss Tulle skirt and black lace top that matched Matt’s classic black suit had them out shining the gardens completely  (side note: tulle skirts are quickly becoming Amanda’s favorite).  As they danced through the gardens and held each other so sweetly (with occasional giggles at the crazy things we asked them to do) they lit the place up. We later found ourselves giggling and smiling as we edited this beautiful session and know you will enjoy it just as much as we did.
