We got married in Charleston a few days after Hurricane Irma and our dance-floor, which was on a dock over the Ashley River at Boone Hall Plantation COMPLETELY flooded at high tide . It was right after our first dance as soon as our guests were seated they started to look out to the dock and it was gone! Our ring bearer was catching crabs in our venue. We always knew rain was always a possibility on our wedding day… but that? we were not expecting that. But we just kicked off our shoes and kept on dancing.
Every once in a while we have a wedding day with rain. Isaac’s rain turtle trick doesn’t work and we come prepared with a wagon full of clear umbrellas. And even though it’s more challenging than shooting a wedding day with predictable weather, it is just as amazing, because our couples are celebrating their marriage to the love of their life!
From our first conversation with Jordan and Ryan to their engagement session on Driftwood Beach, we knew they had something special. These two are both wonderful, sweet, funny people on their own, but something magical happens when you put them together, it’s like nothing else in the world matters, their smiles get bigger, the background fades away, and all of the sudden everything is perfect. This couldn’t have been any more true on their wedding day.
Jordan had us laughing as soon as we arrived at 27 on the Park, a dreamy bed and breakfast tucked away in the little historic town of Dahlonega where we were immediately greeted by her in her polka dot pajamas in the hallway.
The minute Ryan saw Jordan walking down the aisle he immediately relaxed, their smiles widened, and nothing else seemed to matter. The rain was forecasted for ALL DAY at Blue Mountain Vineyards but after the ceremony, it was as if the skies cleared just for them and we got to spend 30 minutes with them at their original ceremony location which was the most amazing North Georgia backdrop with rising fog and rain clouds in the distance.
Ryan and Jordan, we loved every minute with you two, thank you so much for letting us be a small part of your bigger story. This is chapter one and we can’t wait to see what comes next for you two. Here is a small amount of our MANY favorites of your wedding day. We hope you love them as much as we do.
Big hugs and lots of love,
Isaac and Amanda
