Happy Friday Friends! We are so excited to FINALLY be sharing with you a wedding that has been over a year in the making. It all started when Rhett reached out to us for the most epic King and Prince Proposal. What started as us (hiding in plain sight on the beach- beach chairs and all) sending ice storm code names back and forth such as “a Blizzard is coming to East Beach“, “do you have the chills“, and “It’s about to start hailing diamonds” as we anticipated their arrival, ended up being a proposal we will never forget.
We observed through our lens Rhett walking with Madi down the beach, sharing a private prayer together and then wearing his heart on his sleeve as he got down on one knee where he asked the biggest question he ever would, in which she enthusiastically said “Yes!”
After the initial excitement and celebration at the King and Prince, we feel like we really got to know Madi and Rhett and their hearts at their engagement session. We have felt such a connection to them and we feel so lucky and honored that we got to celebrate them throughout special time in their lives. From that first day to the moments before their final exit on their wedding day as we hugged them goodbye, Rhett and Madi have felt like family. Maybe it is because they are two of the SWEETEST people we have ever met. Maybe its how loving and welcoming their family and friends were. Whatever it is, we could not be more thankful for the opportunity to be a part of that family, if only just for a day.
We have written and rewritten this post all week trying to find the “right” way to share with you how beautiful their wedding truly was and then it dawned upon us. We are the photographers, not the writers. We are going to share it with you the way we know-how. Through our photographs (and their sweet smiles — gosh don’t you just LOVE the way Rhett smiles in his eyes at Madi!)
And the second hardest part? It’s wondering when we will see them next. We have had SO MUCH to look forward to and now that the wedding day is over, they are married and we don’t have a date on the calendar with their names on it we look back at these pictures trying to sum up how we feel all we can think is we miss them already!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Blizzard, we will NEVER get tired of saying that ;). Be sure to let us know the next time you visit the island and stay in touch because we can’t wait to see what your next chapter looks like year one into marriage.
Big Hugs and lots of love,
Isaac and Amanda
