Y’all. We have been DYING to share this St Simons Lighthouse Wedding. It was so very special for so many reasons. It’s historic, it’s classic, it’s right on the water– add a little fog and it’s truly whimsical!
We first met Marcie and Kevin on memorial day weekend. It was an early morning right after our session with Mary and Dalton, (who happen to be good friends of theirs!) as we talked over coffee. They started telling us about how they met and their plans for their wedding here at the St Simons Lighthouse with our friends at Ally Moline Events, we were hooked. The conversation was so easy — the time passed too quickly! — which made us look forward to the next time we’d see them.
In fact, you might remember these two sweethearts from their Sea Island Engagement last summer. Between now and then we had been fortunate to see them at wedding guests of a few of our other bride’s weddings and each time we would count down until it was finally their turn! Throughout the entire planning process, Marcie and Kevin were very intentional about their big day. Everything from the details to the entire experience for their closest friends and family.
We started the morning at The Sea Island Lodge, framed by the Avenue of the Oaks, and ocean views. It was the perfect location for Marcie to quietly read her letter from Kevin, and pop a little champagne on the balcony with her bridesmaids before the first look at the plantation ruins that still visible today.
A first look isn’t for every couple, but as photographer’s, we LOVE to capture them. Kevin stood with clenched palms looking ahead as Marcie smiled holding her bouquet and veil behind her waiting for him to turn around.
That is a moment that we just get so GIDDY over! And, the way Kevin looked at Marcie… yes, she was that stunning in her Martina Liana gown.
Marcie and Kevin, we loved every minute of our time with you two and for letting us capture YOUR love story. We have so many favorites from your wedding, and we’re so excited for you to see just a few of them here! We are so fortunate to call you our neighbours and friends. We hope that when you read this you are at some really amazing vineyards sipping on wine, and cheering to forever because you found the best thing!
Big hugs and lots of love,
Isaac and Amanda

P.S – One of the themes of the wedding was oyster shells. Marcie had accumulated shells all year for the wedding. When you look through the photos below you will be AMAZED! They were highlighted on the tables for decor, hand made picture frames, a cutout letter “K” above the bar, fun signage and more! They even played around with oyster puns like “Aww, shucks!” for the gifts table and “Shuck it, have another!” for koozies and cups at the bar. Needless to say, Oysters are our new favorite!
