Oh, friends! We had the pleasure of celebrating with Renee and Derek two weeks ago at Little River Farms and we are so excited to share it with you today!  You may remember these two sweethearts from our Lake Chatuge Engagement Session over a year ago when met them and their pup Houston.  We knew from the moment they described their wedding day vision it would be beautiful.  White roses, grey chiffon, navy suits, calligraphy, wax seals, champagne, and tables named after their dogs with portraits of them had our photographer’s hearts basically on overdrive from the moment we arrived on site.

Details and dreamy natural light aside, Renee and Derek, were the real reason we’d been looking forward to this wedding for so long. They are so genuine, so thoughtful, so intentional, so loving, and so so so perfect together.  The theme of the entire day was “It Was Always You“.  The entire day felt intimate, intentional, and unforgettable.

One of our FAVORITE parts of the entire day was when Renee and Derek read their vows to one another. It is a very brave thing to write what is in your heart and to read it out loud to the one it is intended for. However, it is another form of bravery to also do it in front of your closest family and friends.  It is not something we see often.

Renee said it best in her vow, which will remain a promise between her and Derek, but we can share what stood out to us in the sentiment —

You know how they say that the one is out there?  You will meet the one?  Or one day you will meet your soulmate?  Renee called out that she has been blessed with a few and they are all Derek.  Teenage Derek, High School Derek, College Derek, and the man he has grown to be today, vowing to continue to love him for the rest of their lives as they continue to grow together.

I mean, isn’t that what everyone wants?  A love that is also a witness to your life, someone that wakes up next to you every day and says, “I love you, I will always love you and you matter most of all to me”.

I mean, She included a quote from Taylor Swift….and let’s just say there was not dry an eye behind Amanda’s camera at that part of the ceremony.

“All’s well that ends well to end up with you”

Renee and Derek, we are so thankful that we had the opportunity to be with you on such a monumentally wonderful day. Thank you for trusting us to capture these memories that you will have for a lifetime, and thank you for being such amazing, sweet people. We loved getting to know you over the past year, and hope that you love these as much as we do.
